19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev claimed his first championship for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has had a torrid period, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in especial - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with former coach his previous coach.
Currently training with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set triumph over challenger Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first trophy after the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface since March of that year.
Success also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at 21 distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to get a trophy is particularly special," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, including in the German tournament previously this season.
The player's defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had led some to doubt if his ability to play at the top level was over.
Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to approach the net and compete assertively, supported by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev recovered from a break down in the first set against the difficult opponent, securing 4 of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
Both players traded breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden professional title, seized the initiative to create a final set.
The opponent defended four early break points in a competitive final set before the champion won the break to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev earned the win with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
